Build once. Localise in days, in every market.
Shaman CLM Studio gives brand and local teams the full capability of Veeva CLM, simplified and automated. Core claim slides, your brand design system, references, auto-translate, call clickstream and true Veeva HTML, without a production project for every market.
Global to local
Global teams build the core CLM once. Each market assembles its own version from it, so nothing is re-created or re-referenced. Brand teams, local teams or an agency partner: whoever builds, the production work is gone.
Core CLM: built once, reused 1:1
Each market assembles
Working with an agency? Onboard them in the studio. They build on the same core content and automation, so you keep all these benefits and pay for less agency time.
The challenge
The field force is pharma's biggest commercial investment, and the detail aid is where it meets the HCP. Yet it is the hardest asset a brand produces. Even a changed claim or a new reference goes back through the agency chain: brief, design, copy, reference linking, MLR, HTML, testing.

The capability gap
Veeva CRM can do far more than show slides. But journeys, interactivity, data capture and call clickstream are slow and expensive to build, so most markets ship flat slides, skip the journeys and never learn what happened in the call.
CLM Studio makes that capability standard. Interaction, data capture and clickstream are built into the studio, not bolted on.
Veeva CLM capability: most markets today vs. CLM Studio
| Capability | Most markets | CLM Studio |
|---|---|---|
| Static slides | Used | |
| Navigation menu | Used | |
| Pop-ups and modals | Less used | |
| Video and documents | Less used | |
| Tabbed content and reveals | Less used | |
| Branching journeys | Left on the table | |
| Interactive experiences | Left on the table | |
| Call clickstream and data capture | Left on the table |
Why CLM Studio

See howLocal workflow
One workflow, end to end, inside one studio.
Pick the global slides and modules your market needs.
Auto-translate the full presentation, then refine the tone in place.
Remove off-label content and edit text or images. Add more global slides, or select a brand template to add local content.
An MLR-ready PDF is generated and synced to Veeva Vault PromoMats, with references linked automatically.
True Veeva HTML with clickstream, ready to load into Veeva CRM or Vault CRM.
Room for local content. Local teams can add whatever their market needs. They select a brand template and use the brand’s approved elements, so every addition stays on-brand.
Need a quick update? Edit the slide, regenerate the MLR PDF and the HTML, and push the new version. No production project needed.
The builder
Every capability maps to how reps use a detail aid in the call, and to how Veeva expects it delivered. No custom code, no plug-ins.
Define actions per presentation: home, PI, library, web links, short calls.
Any element can navigate, open an email or fire a clickstream event.
Your brand design system is built in. Every component, colour and type style is applied automatically.
Test every interaction and journey before MLR. What the reviewer sees is what the rep uses.
Focus stories
Most HCP interactions are short. A Focus story is a self-contained path through the detail aid, typically three to six slides, built around one message, one objection or one patient case.
Full detail aid · 24 slides
Focus story · Dosing questions
Call clickstream
Data capture is no longer a separate development track. Marketers select a component and set the action; CLM Studio generates the event IDs, types and answer formats on export, following your clickstream standard.
Example events generated on export
| Element | Type | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Data: most important objection | Capture data, multiple choice | Safety data, peer experience |
| Data: severe patients per month | Capture data, slider | 100–150 |
| Tab: dosing week 4 | User behaviour | Revealed |
| Web: full PI | Content usage | Opened |
| Custom: sample request | Customer insight | Sent |
Taxonomy, prefixes and answer tokens follow your clickstream standard.
Veeva output
CLM Studio generates everything Veeva needs on export, in one controlled workflow. No manual HTML production, no separate clickstream spec, no reformatting after export.
What the export delivers
| HTML | True Veeva CLM HTML per slide, validated on export, with a shared resource file for common assets. |
|---|---|
| Veeva CRM and Vault CRM | Exports load into both Veeva CRM and Vault CRM. |
| Call clickstream | Event IDs, types and answer formats generated to your clickstream standard. |
| Slide naming | Configurable per company: product, country, language, MLR number, date and custom fields. |
| Content tagging | Slide and content tags applied on publish, aligned to your taxonomy. |
| MLR document | A clickable, MLR-ready PDF with every interactive state on its own page, and slides, claims, references and footnotes documented. |
| Reference linking | References are linked automatically in Vault PromoMats. |
| Vault PromoMats | Documents created and versioned in Vault PromoMats. Annotations flow back, and approval status can gate publishing. |
| Versioning | Every change is a tracked version. Local edits never overwrite the global source. |
Agency production
The agency uploads a PDF, collects comments, rebuilds, re-uploads, re-cuts the HTML and re-checks it.Each loop: days to weeks.
With CLM Studio
Edit in the studio, regenerate the PDF, and a new version lands in Vault. Same source, same references, same HTML.Each loop: minutes.

Choosing a builder
Shaman has two ways to produce Veeva CLM. Start with the scope of the detail aid, then look at where your content starts.
1 What is the scope of the CLM?
A core CLM reused in many markets
Global to local
Build once. Localise in days.
Clustered markets
Three or more localisations of the same core CLM
One template build replaces three agency builds.
A single market
One local request
2 Single market: where does your content start?
An agency PDF or your own PowerPoint
A static source, no design tool
Turn the PDF or PPT into interactive Veeva HTML.
Your agency designs in Figma
The design lives in Figma
Translate in Figma, then sync to CLM Builder for Veeva HTML.
A finished PDF that needs small changes
Minor updates only
The agency updates the source; CLM Builder rebuilds the HTML.
You want to design your own CLM
No agency design yet
Build on your brand design templates.
You want clickstream and interaction
Basic designs you want to extend
Team up with two or three markets and build once.

FAQ
CLM Studio is Shaman's builder for interactive Veeva CLM detail aids. Global teams build core claim slides, templates and interactive apps on the brand design system. Local teams select, auto-translate, adapt and publish true Veeva HTML with call clickstream, and every export produces an MLR-ready PDF synced to Veeva Vault PromoMats.
They are names for the same thing: the interactive presentation a sales rep shows an HCP on a tablet. “CLM presentation” is Veeva's term (CLM stands for closed-loop marketing). “E-detail” and “eDA” (electronic detail aid) are common in pharma marketing. “iVA” means interactive visual aid, and “iCVA” (interactive core visual aid) usually refers to the global master that markets localise. CLM Studio builds all of them.
Yes. CLM Studio exports to both Veeva CRM and Vault CRM, so teams planning their move to Vault CRM can keep building their detail aids in the same studio.
CLM Studio is for building detail aids on your brand design system and localising them across markets, with clickstream and interaction built in. CLM Builder turns existing agency files into interactive Veeva HTML: a PDF, a PowerPoint or a Figma design through the Shaman Figma plugin. It suits a single market working from a finished design.
No, but you can keep one. Brand and local teams can build in the studio themselves, and the studio handles design, references, interactions, MLR documents and HTML. If you work with an agency, onboard them as users on the same governed CLM project: they build on the same core content and automation, which cuts agency time and cost.
A Focus story is a short, self-contained path through a detail aid, typically three to six slides, built around one message, one objection or one patient case. Marketing composes it from approved slides and the rep launches it from the action menu when a call is short. Each story is its own clickstream event.
Every export generates an MLR-ready PDF that documents slides, claims, references and footnotes, with each interactive state on its own page. The document is created and versioned in Veeva Vault PromoMats with references linked automatically, annotations flow back to the studio, and approval status can gate publishing.
As much as their market needs. Local teams can add their own slides and content, such as local studies, prevalence or reimbursement data, by selecting a brand template and using the brand's approved elements. The brand design system is built into the studio, so everything they add is styled automatically and stays on-brand. Global core claim slides keep their approved claim, references and footnotes as one unit.
